Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable and motivated Warehouse Operative to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for a variety of warehouse tasks, ensuring smooth operations and maintaining high standards of safety and efficiency. Duties
- Handling materials efficiently, including loading and unloading goods from lorries and storage areas
- Operating forklifts and other warehouse machinery safely and effectively
- Picking, packing, and preparing orders for dispatch in accordance with company standards
- Organising stock through stocking and replenishment activities to optimise storage space
- Conducting quality control checks to ensure products meet required specifications
- Assisting with shipping and receiving processes, including documentation and labelling
- Performing mechanical tasks related to warehouse equipment maintenance and troubleshooting
- Ensuring the warehouse environment is clean, organised, and compliant with health and safety regulations
- Heavy lifting of goods as required, following proper manual handling procedures
- Helping occasionally on the tills during busy periods. (training provided).
Requirements
- Previous experience in a warehouse environment is preferred but not essential; training will be provided for the right candidate
- Proficiency in materials handling, including load & unload activities
- Experience operating forklifts or willingness to undertake forklift training (certification preferred but not essential)
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail.
- Mechanical knowledge or aptitude for equipment maintenance is a plus
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently
- Good understanding of shipping & receiving procedures and quality control standards
- Physical fitness to stand for extended periods and perform manual handling tasks effectively
