About This Role
We are seeking fun, warm, and compassionate Healthcare Assistants to support an 8-year-old boy within his family home.
He enjoys sensory play, light and music therapy, children’s TV programmes, and especially loves singing, playful interaction, and funny voices that make him laugh and smile.
As part of his dedicated 1:1 care team, you will support him across both day and night shifts, helping to create a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment tailored to his individual needs.
During the day, you will support him to access activities while closely monitoring his oxygen saturations, airway, and seizure activity, alongside any other required clinical interventions as outlined in his care plan.
Night shifts require a vigilant and attentive approach, supporting his clinical needs as required while maintaining a calm and restful environment. You will provide comfort and reassurance throughout the night and respond appropriately to any changes in his condition.
We are looking for caring, reliable, and attentive individuals who can recognise signs of deterioration, respond calmly and effectively, and deliver high-quality, person-centred care while building a positive and trusting relationship with both our client and his family.
Previous epilepsy experience is preferred but not essential, as full training and ongoing support will be provided.
Clinical Experience
Previous experience supporting children or young people with complex healthcare needs is desirable. Where required, specialist clinical training will be provided by our highly skilled, in house nursing team.
Package-specific clinical skills
The specific clinical competencies required for our client are: Non-invasive ventilation (CPAP) Overnight monitoring Oxygen saturation monitoring Personal care
Essential Requirements
To be considered for this role, applicants must:
- Have a minimum of 3 months' paid experience working in a professional care setting within the UK.
- Have the right to work in the UK.
- Be committed to delivering safe, compassionate and child-centred care.
- Be willing to complete client-specific, clinical training where required.
- Confident with medication, personal care, moving and handling
- Clear communication skills
- A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
