Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Deputy Manager to join our care home team specialising in senior care, including dementia and Alzheimer's care. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, supervisory experience, and a compassionate approach to supporting residents with diverse needs. This role offers an opportunity to contribute to high-quality assisted living services, ensuring the well-being and safety of our residents while maintaining compliance with care standards. The Deputy Manager will work closely with the management team to oversee daily operations, support staff development, and uphold exceptional standards of care.
Duties
- Assist the Home Manager in the overall management of the care home, ensuring smooth daily operations.
- Supervise and support care staff, fostering a positive and professional working environment.
- Oversee the implementation of personalised care plans for residents, including those requiring dementia and Alzheimer's care.
- Administer medication in accordance with prescribed protocols and maintain accurate records.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety regulations, safeguarding policies, and legal requirements.
- Support staff training programmes, including medication administration and specialised dementia care techniques.
- Monitor residents' wellbeing, responding promptly to any changes or concerns.
- Assist in managing staffing rotas, recruitment processes, and performance reviews.
- Liaise effectively with families, healthcare professionals, and external agencies to coordinate resident care.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the home to enhance quality of life for residents.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in care home or assisted living environments, particularly with senior care including dementia and Alzheimer's patients.
- Strong leadership and supervising experience within a care home setting.
- Knowledge of care planning, medication administration, and regulatory standards relevant to elderly care.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently.
- Compassionate approach with excellent communication skills tailored to residents’ needs.
- Relevant qualifications in nursing or healthcare management are desirable but not essential; however, experience in nursing or home care is required.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team while demonstrating leadership qualities. This role is vital in ensuring our residents receive compassionate, professional care within a safe environment while supporting staff development through effective supervision and leadership.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: £17.00-£18.00 per hour
