Salary: £26,000 - £30,000 (depending on experience)
Hours: 38 hours per week | 46 weeks per year

The Role
As the school's Premises Officer, you'll help ensure the buildings and grounds remain safe, secure and welcoming for pupils, staff and visitors.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Carrying out day-to-day repairs, maintenance and general DIY tasks.
- Hanging shelving, display boards and completing minor improvement projects.
- Opening and securing the school as a trusted key holder.
- Working alongside external contractors and overseeing maintenance visits.
- Managing deliveries, stock levels and essential site supplies.
- Supporting waste management and maintaining site records.
- Carrying out basic grounds maintenance, including clearing leaves, litter and pathways.
- Completing health and safety checks, risk assessments and ensuring statutory compliance.
- Helping maintain a clean, safe and professional environment across both school sites.
What We're Looking For
We're looking for someone who enjoys being hands-on, takes pride in their work and is happy working as part of a team.
You'll ideally have:
Essential
- Experience in building maintenance, caretaking, facilities or a similar role.
- Good practical DIY and maintenance skills.
- Knowledge of health and safety procedures.
- A full UK driving licence.
- Good literacy and numeracy skills.
- The ability to work independently and use your own initiative.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
Desirable
- Experience working within a school or educational setting.
- Experience coordinating contractors or premises improvement projects.
- Relevant maintenance or trade qualifications.
