About Get Zero
GetZero is a growing renewable energy business specialising in solar PV, battery storage
and smart energy solutions for homes and businesses.
We're looking for a creative, confident and energetic Content Creator to become the person behind Get Zero's social media presence.
This isn't a role for someone who wants to sit at a desk waiting to be given content. We want someone who will actively find it.
You'll be visiting installations, speaking to customers and our team, filming projects, spotting interesting stories and turning what GetZero does every day into engaging social content.
Your ultimate goal is simple: create great content that gets GetZero noticed and grows our audience.
The Role
You'll take ownership of GetZero's day-to-day social media content, from the initial idea
through to filming, editing and publishing.
You'll work across platforms including Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, LinkedIn and
YouTube, adapting content to suit each audience rather than simply posting the same thing
everywhere.
A typical week could include visiting a commercial solar installation to film a project,
interviewing an engineer, filming a customer testimonial, creating a Reel explaining battery
storage, capturing behind-the-scenes office content and editing everything into posts ready to publish.
Key Responsibilities
● Plan, film, edit and publish regular social media content.
● Proactively visit GetZero installation sites and projects to capture interesting content.
● Produce short-form video including Reels, TikToks and YouTube Shorts.
● Create longer-form video where appropriate, including project showcases and
customer stories.
● Photograph installations, staff, customers and events.
● Interview customers, installers, salespeople and other members of the team.
● Turn technical renewable-energy subjects into simple, interesting and entertaining
content.
● Develop recurring content ideas and series that people recognise as GetZero
content.
● Write captions, hooks and calls-to-action.
● Manage GetZero's social media posting calendar.
● Respond to and encourage comments and engagement where appropriate.
● Keep up with social trends and quickly identify opportunities GetZero can use.
● Monitor competitors and other successful brands for inspiration.
● Track the performance of individual posts and learn what works.
● Report monthly on follower growth, reach, views and engagement.
● Continuously experiment with new formats and ideas to improve performance.
What We're Looking For
We're more interested in creativity, personality and ability than formal qualifications.
The ideal person will:
● Be confident filming both behind and in front of the camera.
● Understand what makes people stop scrolling and watch.
● Have experience creating and editing short-form video.
● Be comfortable using editing software such as CapCut, Adobe Premiere Pro or
similar.
● Understand Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, LinkedIn and YouTube.
● Be able to take a rough idea and turn it into finished content without needing constant
direction.
● Be confident approaching customers and members of staff for content.
● Have good written English and be able to write engaging captions.
● Be organised enough to manage a regular content schedule.
● Be willing to travel to GetZero projects to capture content.
● Have a full UK driving licence.
Experience within solar, renewable energy or construction would be useful, but isn't
essential. We can teach the technical side. Finding someone who naturally understands
content and social media is more important.
How Success Will Be Measured
This is a creative role, but it is also a performance-driven role.
We'll agree a starting baseline and monthly targets covering areas such as:
● Organic follower growth
● Engagement rate
● Video views and watch time
● Reach and impressions
● Shares and saves
● Volume and consistency of quality content produced
● Growth of GetZero's overall social media presence
Performance against these targets will form part of a monthly bonus scheme, giving you
the opportunity to increase your earnings as you grow the GetZero audience.
We don't expect every post to go viral. We do expect you to constantly test ideas, learn from the numbers and improve.
Working Pattern
This is a 25-hour-per-week role.
There will be flexibility around how those hours are worked because great content doesn't
always happen between 9am and 5pm.
Some weeks may involve more time filming on GetZero projects, while others will be more
focused on editing, planning and publishing.
Why Join GetZero?
GetZero is growing quickly, which means there will never be a shortage of things to film.
From residential solar installations and huge commercial solar projects to batteries, EV
charging and new energy technology, you'll have access to projects that can produce
genuinely interesting content.
You'll also have a lot of creative freedom.
We're not looking for someone to simply follow a corporate social-media calendar. We want someone who can help build the GetZero personality online and turn our social channels into a significant audience for the business.
If you're constantly thinking "that would make a good video", we want to hear from
you.
