This opportunity would suit a Senior Engineer, Foreman Engineer, or experienced Powered Access Engineer who is ready to take the next step in their career and take on additional responsibility.
You don't necessarily need to have held a supervisory title before. If you have strong technical experience, take pride in your work, and have the ambition to develop into a senior or lead position, we'd like to hear from you.
You'll play an important role in keeping a modern powered access fleet safe, reliable and ready for hire, while also having the opportunity to develop your responsibilities within the depot and wider business.
The Role
As a Senior Powered Access Engineer / Foreman Engineer, you will be responsible for the inspection, servicing, maintenance and repair of a range of powered access equipment.
You will also have the opportunity to take on additional responsibility within the engineering function, supporting the team, helping maintain high standards and contributing to the efficient running of the depot.
Key Responsibilities
- Service, inspect, maintain and repair a range of powered access equipment.
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical and hydraulic faults efficiently and accurately.
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance and breakdown repairs.
- Complete LOLER inspections and relevant safety checks where qualified.
- Ensure all work is completed to a high standard and in line with relevant safety and manufacturer requirements.
- Identify faults and recommend appropriate repairs or replacement parts.
- Maintain accurate service and inspection records.
- Support and provide technical guidance to other engineers where required.
- Assist with the day-to-day organisation of engineering activities within the depot.
- Help maintain high standards of health, safety, housekeeping and engineering quality.
- Liaise with depot colleagues and customers where required.
- Take on increasing responsibility as you develop within the business.
About You
We're looking for someone with solid hands-on experience working on powered access equipment who wants to build on that experience.
You could be:
- A Senior Powered Access Engineer looking for a new challenge.
- A Foreman Engineer ready for a fresh opportunity.
- An experienced Powered Access Engineer looking to progress into a more senior position.
- An experienced mobile or depot-based engineer who is ready to take on additional responsibility.
You'll ideally have experience with equipment such as MEWPs, scissor lifts, boom lifts, telehandlers or other access platforms, with a strong understanding of mechanical, hydraulic and electrical systems.
Most importantly, you'll be a practical, dependable engineer who takes pride in doing the job properly and is keen to develop.
What We're Offering
- £35,000–£45,000 basic salary, depending on experience.
- Additional 5% annual bonus when agreed depot targets are achieved.
- Paid overtime available by agreement and as required.
- New Ford Transit Custom company van.
- Company fuel provided, with applicable vehicle and fuel benefit taxation through PAYE.
- Monday–Friday, 08:00–17:30.
- 1-hour unpaid break, usually split across the working day.
- Health care and pension options available following the qualifying period.
- Opportunity to develop into a senior / lead engineering position.
- A role with genuine scope to take on more responsibility and progress within the business.
Why This Role?
This is a great opportunity for an engineer who has reached the point where they want more responsibility without necessarily moving away from the engineering side of the job.
You'll have the support and opportunity to develop your role around your experience and strengths, with the potential to grow into a key position within the engineering team.
If you're an experienced Powered Access Engineer and are ready for the next step, we'd like to hear from you. Alternatively please email [email protected] or call Liam on 07962987483
