Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Porter to join our busy culinary team. The ideal candidate will support the smooth operation of our kitchen by maintaining cleanliness, assisting with food preparation, and ensuring all areas meet health and safety standards. Duties
- Responsible for cleaning dishes, utensils, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment to ensure a hygienic environment.
- Assist with basic food preparation tasks under supervision, including peeling, chopping, and organising ingredients.
- Support chefs and kitchen staff with general duties such as restocking supplies and maintaining cleanliness throughout the kitchen area.
- Ensure waste is disposed of correctly and recycling procedures are followed.
- Maintain cleanliness of work surfaces, floors, and storage areas to comply with health and safety regulations.
- Help with setting up dining areas for service and clearing after meals as required.
- Adhere to all safety protocols within the kitchen environment.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a restaurant, hotel, or hospitality setting is advantageous but not essential.
- Knowledge of food preparation and cooking processes is desirable.
- Familiarity with kitchen hygiene standards and health & safety regulations.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
