The role focuses on leading the day-to-day warehousing requirements of our depot, ensuring all tasks are undertaken efficiently to meet operational targets and customer satisfaction. This is a fast-paced, multi-faceted role requiring strong warehouse management skills, communication, organisation, and a proactive approach to achieving customer requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
· Working as part of a team.
· Create and maintain a well organised, bin mapped, and numbered warehouse.
· Develop and implement a well thought out sub-location system, allowing those reporting to the depot for work to know where their parts, stock, and drop off areas are at all times.
· Investigate, then instigate a plan to ensure that all racking is fully utilised and wherever possible the floor is maintained as a clear working area. It is recognised that investment in new racking may be required for racking storage to be fully utilised – this should factor in to longer term plans.
· Maintaining a safe, clean & tidy working environment.
· Pick and pack orders for dispatch in a timely fashion, working to targets as required.
· Loading and unloading deliveries.
· Forklift truck operation (flexi and counterbalance).
· Lifting large items using proper manual handling techniques.
· Changing safe locks, cutting safe keys, and programming electronic safe locks across our range.
· Undertaking local deliveries and collections using company vehicle.
· Recycling of waste.
· Completing stock counts and transfers.
· Quality Control checks of stock in line with company procedures.
· Reporting any discrepancies or other issues (e.g., damage, incorrect labels etc.).
· Processing picks, stock movements and stock adjustments within the stock management systems.
· Conducting health, safety and qualitive checks including FLT Checks, Tower Checks, Racking Checks, Lifting Equipment Checks and Vehicle Checks as necessary.
· Assist the Depot Manager with the creation of a full asset register for equipment based at the Thurrock depot, and to establish a comprehensive stock control system for all parts and all second-hand safes.
Pay: From £28,000.00 per hour
