Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Painter and Decorator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for applying paint, varnishes, and other finishes to various surfaces, ensuring high-quality workmanship and attention to detail. This role involves working on a range of projects, from residential to commercial properties, and requires a professional approach to safety and client satisfaction. A valid driving licence is preferred to facilitate transportation to different sites.
Duties
- Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, and filling imperfections before painting or decorating
- Apply paints, varnishes, wallpapers, and other finishes with precision and care
- Use a variety of tools including brushes, rollers, sprayers, and specialised equipment
- Ensure all work complies with health and safety regulations and company standards
- Communicate effectively with clients and team members regarding project progress and requirements
- Maintain a clean and organised work environment throughout each project
- Assist in the planning and execution of decorating projects from start to finish
Requirements
- Proven experience in construction painting or decorating is desirable
- Good communication skills in English, both verbal and written
- Ability to interpret technical drawings or instructions accurately
- Valid driving licence is advantageous for site visits across different locations
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on quality workmanship
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Good organisational skills with the ability to manage time effectively
