HGV Technician – Castle Donington
Location: Castle Donington
Salary: £45,000 – £50,000 per year
Job Type: Full-Time | Permanent
We are currently recruiting for an experienced HGV Technician to join a busy and well-established workshop in Castle Donington.
This role is suited to a technician with a strong background in commercial vehicle maintenance who can work independently and confidently on a range of HGV repairs and inspections.
The Role
You will be responsible for carrying out:
- PMI inspections
- MOT preparation
- Fault diagnosis
- General servicing and repairs
- Ensuring all work is completed in line with current DVSA regulations and workshop standards
Experience working on RCVs (bin lorries) and HGV trailers would be highly desirable, although it is not essential.
Working Hours
- Monday to Friday: 7:00am – 5:00pm
- Every other Saturday: 7:00am – 12:00pm
There may also be an opportunity for a 6:00am – 4:00pm shift pattern, which can be discussed at interview stage along with the salary package.
Requirements
- Proven experience as an HGV Technician
- Strong knowledge of PMI inspections, MOT standards, and current regulations
- Confident with diagnostics and fault-finding
- Able to work independently to a high standard
Please note that this position is not suitable for newly qualified technicians or candidates looking to move into the HGV industry from another trade. We are looking for someone with solid, hands-on HGV experience.
