Workshop Assistant - Brighton JLR
Basic £32,000 - Bonus £9,000
JOB PURPOSE
The role of the Workshop Assistant is to:
- Assist the Workshop Controller to manage the process of optimising workshop resources to meet agreed departmental budgets.
- Ensure customer requirements are fully understood and communicated in an effective manner to other members of the department.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support the Workshop controller in the day to day running of the workshop.
- Contribute towards the effective use of workshop resources for the business.
- Be aware of individual and workshop efficiencies and assist in ensuring key performance indicators are met.
- Assist in planning the distribution of work amongst the team utilising available skills mix.
- Liaise between workshop and service reception on customer vehicle progress.
- Assist in the Administration of all paperwork and systems as required.
- Adhere to workshop standards in accordance with brand standards requirements.
- Ensure understanding and adherence to the requirements of manufacturer service requirements and customer satisfaction indicators.
- Maintain and develop own skills and technical knowledge.
- Maintain safe working practices and abide by the working rules and standards of the business.
Skills & Requirements
Essential
- Competency in numeracy, literacy and IT.
- Good organisational and leadership skill with the ability to delegate and motivate the team.
- Strong problem solving and decision-making skills with the ability to work under pressure.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Smart appearance.
Experience
Essential
- Automotive workshop experience.
Desirable
- Relevant manufacturer experience.
Hours: Mon - Fei 8am - 5.30pm
