Duties
- Assist in the preparation and cooking of a variety of dishes in accordance with established recipes and standards
- Support senior chefs with food production, ensuring quality and presentation meet company specifications
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of workstations, adhering to food safety regulations
- Supervise junior team members when required, providing guidance and support to ensure smooth kitchen operations
- Manage food stock levels, assist with inventory checks, and ensure proper storage of ingredients
- Contribute to menu development ideas and participate in daily briefings with the kitchen team
- Ensure all health and safety protocols are followed diligently throughout all kitchen activities
- Serve dishes efficiently during service hours, ensuring customer satisfaction
Experience
- Previous experience in a professional kitchen environment is preferred, ideally within a restaurant or hospitality setting
- Demonstrable knowledge of food safety standards and hygiene practices
- Experience in food production, cooking, and food preparation techniques
- Supervising or team management experience is advantageous but not essential for entry-level candidates willing to learn
- Familiarity with restaurant operations, serving procedures, and customer service principles is beneficial
- A passion for culinary arts combined with a strong work ethic and leadership qualities is highly valued
