Across government, the quality of data is fundamental to effective decision-making, operational performance and public trust. As organisations increase their use of data, analytics and AI, ensuring that data is accurate, reliable and well-governed becomes critical. Poor data quality can undermine insight and impact outcomes, while high-quality data enables confident decisions and better services. At Ofgem, strengthening data quality is central to delivering on our regulatory responsibilities and supporting the transition to a more secure, fair and sustainable energy system.
Ofgem plays a vital role in protecting energy consumers and enabling the UKs journey to Net Zero. As the organisation continues to embed data-driven decision-making, there is a growing need to ensure that the data underpinning analysis, reporting and modelling is trusted and fit for purpose. Within the Digital, Data and Security Services (DDSS) directorate, we are developing stronger data governance practices and improving data quality across systems, products and processes.
As Senior Data Quality Analyst, you will play a key role in leading data quality analysis and driving improvements across the organisation. You will work within the Data Governance team to assess, monitor and enhance data quality, ensuring that data is managed in line with organisational standards and best practice.
This is a role that combines analytical expertise with stakeholder engagement and leadership. You will evaluate data products and pipelines, identify areas for improvement and communicate insights in a way that builds understanding and trust. You will also contribute to shaping how data quality is managed, embedding better practices and supporting colleagues across the data community.
