Senior Quantity Surveyor Opportunity NorthernIreland Based
Mivan is a dynamic and progressivespecialist joinery and interior fit-out contractor with a reputation forexcellence and innovation. We are currently looking for an experienced anddriven Senior Quantity Surveyor to manage the project budgets in order toattain commercial targets & provide commercial support to the ProjectManager.
Candidates should have extensiveexperience on new build and fit out type projects as a senior surveyor, and a thirdlevel Quantity Surveying qualification or construction related discipline Theideal candidate will be commercially astute with strong leadership and peoplemanagement skills and the ability to negotiate and influence.
Main duties will include:
- Responsible for the management,training and development of the projects commercial resources
- Preparation & management of theproject budget
- Procurement of subcontractors andagreement of subcontract conditions
- Commercial control of subcontractpackages
- Value and agree the cost of anyvariations
- Prepare cost, value and reconciliationmonthly reports on each assigned project
- With regards to estimate build up costsfor each element of the work, identify labour, material requirements and sourceand obtain quotations where applicable.
- Liaise with purchasing / buying forspecialist providers
- Attend internal hand-over meetings
- Provide feedback information toBusiness Development regarding tender values vs. actual costs
- Maintain working relationships with theclient and project team
- Providing contractual advice to theProject Manager
The successful candidate will possess the following:
- Extensiveexperience on new build and fit out type projects as a senior surveyor
- Experiencedealing with sub-contractors and clients and their representatives at a seniorlevel.
- ThirdLevel Quantity Surveying qualification or construction related discipline
- Goodcommercial attitude and drive
- Excellentcommunication skills
- GoodIT skills- Excel, Word & Outlook
- Willingto travel as travel to UKsites will be required
