Working within our supported accommodation setting, you will provide guidance, emotional support, and practical life-skills training to care leavers and vulnerable young people aged 16–18 as they transition into adulthood and independent living. - Empower & Guide: Help young people develop core life skills, including budgeting, cooking, tenancy management, job hunting, and education enrolment.
- Person-Centred Support: Create and maintain tailored support plans and risk assessments focused on each young person’s individual goals and needs.
- Sleep-In Coverage: Perform overnight sleep-in duties on rotation to ensure a safe, secure, and reassuring presence in the building.
- Crisis Management & Emotional Support: Handle challenging situations, conflict resolution, or emotional distress with patience, calm, and resilience.
- Key Working: Build strong, positive, and trusting relationships with young people while maintaining clear professional boundaries.
- Multi-Agency Collaboration: Work alongside Social Services, Personal Advisors (PAs), local colleges, mental health services, and Rotherham Metropolitan Borough Council.
- Maintain Standards: Ensure property safety, cleanliness, and clear daily log recording in line with quality standards.
What We Are Looking For
- Availability: Willingness to work on a rota basis, including early/late shifts, weekends, and sleep-ins(essential).
- Experience: Previous experience working with young people, care leavers, or in supported housing/residential care is desirable—though transferrable skills and strong values are equally welcome.
- Qualifications: NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care or Children and Young People's Workforce (or a willingness to work towards this with full support).
- Core Qualities: High emotional intelligence, resilience, non-judgemental attitude, and strong communication skills.
- Driver: A full UK Driving Licence with access to a vehicle is preferred, but not strictly essential depending on location.
Pay: £13.00-£13.50 per hour
