The Production Engineering Lead will be responsible for leading engineering projects, developing manufacturing standards and implementing processes that improve productivity, reduce costs and support business growth. The Production Engineering Lead will work collaboratively across the organisation to deliver robust engineering solutions, taking manufacturing processes from concept and trial to full scale manufacture.
What you will do as our Production Engineering Lead:

Oversee and support the day-to-day production processes, including root cause identification of faults, defects and process issues.

Lead the specification of plant and equipment requirements to enable the successful optimisation of existing processes.

Develop, implement and review work instructions, quality standards and manufacturing procedures to ensure consistent and compliant production processes.

Identify, evaluate and implement improvement projects to provide cost savings in areas such as material, machine and manpower efficiency and eliminating “cost of poor quality”.

Lead risk assessment activities and implement corrective and preventative measures to eliminate or reduce workplace risks.

Manage strategic relationships with plant and equipment suppliers, to ensure reliable supply, quality and service delivery.

Oversee and ensure relevant permits to work are issued to subcontractors for onsite activities.

Ensure all plant, equipment and processes meet health, safety and environmental legislative requirements.

Carry out time and motion studies on existing processes and identify opportunities for improvement.

Audit existing production processes against existing procedures and provide reports.

Support and develop Junior Production Engineer.
What are we looking for in our Production Engineering Lead:

BSc in Production, Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering.

Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, process optimisation and continuous improvement techniques.

Experience leading engineering projects from concept through implementation.

Able to resolve complex manufacturing issues using structured problem-solving techniques.
