We are recruiting a Sous Chef to join the team at our beautiful, award winning, gastro pub in Kentish Town, renowned for its relaxed atmosphere, fresh seasonal menus, and daily specials.

We are seeking a dynamic and passionate Sous Chef! In this energetic role, you will be a key leader in the kitchen, assisting the Head Chef in overseeing daily food production, ensuring top-quality food preparation, and maintaining a lively, efficient work environment. Your culinary expertise and leadership skills will drive the team to deliver exceptional dining experiences while upholding the highest standards of food safety and hospitality. Responsibilities
- Assist the Head Chef in supervising daily kitchen operations, ensuring smooth workflow and high standards of food quality
- Lead food preparation and cooking activities, maintaining consistency and presentation excellence
- Manage and motivate kitchen staff, fostering teamwork and a positive work environment
- Oversee food safety protocols, sanitation standards, and proper storage procedures to ensure compliance with health regulations
- Coordinate with front-of-house staff to ensure timely serving of dishes and excellent guest service
- Support inventory management by monitoring stock levels, placing orders, and minimizing waste
- Train new team members on food production techniques, safety procedures, and restaurant standards
Qualifications
- Proven supervising experience in a professional kitchen or restaurant setting
- Strong background in food production, cooking, and culinary techniques
- Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to manage a team effectively
- Extensive kitchen experience with knowledge of food safety regulations
- Excellent skills in food preparation and presentation
- Experience in hospitality environments with a focus on customer satisfaction
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail
- Knowledge of serving procedures and restaurant operations is preferred
