We are looking for a dynamic and friendly receptionist to join our newly extended, purpose-built, innovative and customer focused veterinary practice in Hertford.
Part-time position including Saturdays on a rota. We can be busy at times therefore, you should have experience working in a fast-paced customer service environment.
The duties will be primarily reception but will also include some admin work. Our ideal candidate would be patient, calm, kind, caring, professional and empathetic with both owners and their pets. You must also be efficient, organised, and able to work hard and multi-task at busy times.
Previous experience and/or qualifications are preferable. Previous experience with pet ownership is essential. Opening hours are 8:30am-7:00pm Mon-Friday and Saturdays 9-12pm. The shifts will be shared on a rota and there are a mixture of early and evening shifts.
Responsibilities:
- Greet and check-in clients and their pets in a friendly and professional manner
- Schedule appointments and manage the appointment calendar
- Answer phone calls and respond to client enquiries
- Collect and update patient information in the computer system
- Assist with filing and organising medical records
- Prepare examination rooms for appointments
- Assist veterinarians and veterinary technicians as needed
- Process payments and handle financial transactions
Experience:
- Previous experience working in a veterinary clinic or animal hospital is preferred
- Familiarity with veterinary terminology and procedures
- Knowledge of laboratory procedures and sample collection is a plus
- Excellent customer service skills and ability to communicate effectively with clients
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
