About the Role
Country Gates is looking for a motivated and reliable Groundworker / Civils Engineer to join our growing installation team. The successful candidate will work alongside and support our Lead Civils Engineer, carrying out all aspects of groundworks required for the installation of automated gates, barriers, bollards and access control systems.
This is an excellent opportunity for an individual with groundworks or civil engineering experience who is looking to develop their skills and build a long-term career within a successful and expanding business.
Key Responsibilities
- Site preparation for gate and barrier installations
- Excavation and digging works
- Mixing, pouring and finishing concrete
- Shuttering and formwork construction
- Brickwork and blockwork construction
- Block paving and reinstatement works
- General labouring and site support duties
- Loading and unloading materials and equipment
- Maintaining a safe, clean and organised working environment
- Supporting the Lead Civils Engineer on projects of varying sizes
- Ensuring work is completed to a high standard and in line with health and safety requirements
Essential Requirements
- Previous experience in groundworks, civil engineering, construction or labouring
- Strong work ethic and positive attitude
- Willingness to learn and develop within the business
- Reliable, punctual and dependable with excellent attendance
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Good physical fitness and willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Full UK driving licence preferred
Desirable Skills & Qualifications
- Experience using CAT & Genny equipment
- Digger/Excavator ticket
- Dumper ticket
- CSCS Card
- Experience with concrete works, shuttering and foundations
- Bricklaying or block paving experience
- Previous experience working within the gates, fencing or construction industry
