Assistant Sommelier £47k

We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Assistant Sommelier to join our team at Kudu Marylebone.
This is an exciting opportunity for a hospitality professional who is passionate about wine, cocktails, guest experience, and team development. Working closely with the Sommelier team, you will play a key role in delivering exceptional service while helping drive the performance and culture of South African wines.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the day-to-day operation of the beverage.
- Deliver outstanding guest experiences through confident wine and beverage recommendations.
- Assist with wine service, staff training, and menu development.
- Maintain high standards of service, cleanliness, and presentation.
- Support stock control, ordering, and inventory management.
- Help manage labour, rotas, and team performance.
- Lead by example during busy services and inspire the team to perform at their best.
- Ensure compliance with licensing, health & safety, and company procedures.
What We're Looking For
- Previous experience in a premium restaurant.
- Strong wine knowledge; WSET qualification is essential.
- Passion for hospitality and creating memorable guest experiences.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to remain calm and effective in a fast-paced environment.
- A positive attitude and willingness to develop both yourself and your team.
What We Offer
- Salary £42,000 – 47,000, including discretional service charge and additional of excess tronc.
