About Moods Leeds
Moods Leeds is a new café, bar and restaurant opening inside the restored First White Cloth Hall on Kirkgate, one of Leeds’ most important historic buildings. The venue will bring together a high quality café, bar, restaurant and events offer in a unique setting at the heart of the city. The building has played a major role in Leeds’ commercial history and has recently been restored as part of the wider regeneration of Kirkgate.
We are now looking for chefs of all levels to join our opening kitchen team.
The role
We are recruiting across the kitchen, from commis level through to experienced chefs who can take ownership of sections. This is a good opportunity for people who want to be part of a new opening from the start and help shape the kitchen as the business grows.
The food offer will cover daytime café service, brunch, bar snacks, evening restaurant service and events. The venue is positioned as a high quality café, restaurant and bar, so we are looking for chefs who care about consistency, presentation, pace and good standards. The lease specifically allows use as a high-class café, restaurant and bar, which reflects the direction of the venue.
Responsibilities
Preparing and cooking food to a high standard
Working across café, brunch, bar snack, restaurant and event menus
Keeping your section clean, organised and ready for service
Following food safety, hygiene and allergen procedures
Supporting stock control, prep lists and daily kitchen organisation
Working closely with the Head Chef and wider team
Helping create a positive, professional kitchen culture from day one
What we are looking for
Experience in a kitchen role, ideally in a café, restaurant, bar, hotel or events setting
A good attitude and willingness to learn
Reliability, organisation and pride in your work
Ability to work well under pressure
Good communication with the kitchen and front of house team
A genuine interest in food, service and hospitality

Pay: £13.00-£16.00 per hour
