Fast track manager scheme
Dorking Brewery is looking for a driven, enthusiastic, and highly passionate person to join our team on our 2 year fast track scheme to pub manager. You will learn all aspects of our brewery and pub business and will gain qualifications in hospitality management, beer and food standards. Over the 2 years you will receive agreed pay rises as experience and qualifications are met. This pivotal role will involve supporting our General Managers across our three unique Dorking Brewery pubs, helping to maintain our exceptional standards, driving consistency, and ensuring every single customer has a fantastic experience. You'll be a key player in representing our brand and our beer.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Operations
- Act as the manager on duty, taking full responsibility for the pub's smooth operation in the absence of the General Manager.
- Work closely with the General Managers to maintain and enforce high operating standards and consistency across all three sites, from cellar management to service delivery.
- Assist with stock control, including ordering, deliveries, and cellar management, ensuring the highest quality of our core product: our beer.
- Help with administrative tasks such as reporting, scheduling, and cash handling.
Team & Culture
- Support the training, coaching, and mentoring of the pub teams, inspiring them to deliver fantastic customer service with every interaction.
- Foster a positive, energetic, and knowledgeable pub culture that aligns with the Dorking Brewery brand.
Customer Service & Sales
- Lead by example on the floor, ensuring all customers receive a warm welcome and an outstanding experience.
- Utilise your passion for beer to educate customers and staff on our products, driving sales and promoting new releases.
- Proactively resolve customer issues professionally and efficiently, always ensuring high customer satisfaction.
What You'll Bring
- Proven experience in a supervisory or management role within the hospitality sector (pub/bar experience is essential).
- A genuine, deep-seated passion for craft beer and a desire to learn everything about the Dorking Brewery range.
- A proactive, can-do attitude and the drive to seek out and implement improvements.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead a diverse team and engage positively with customers.
- Flexibility to work across our three Dorking pub locations, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
