Key Purpose
Manage the effective delivery of the company projects programme with the Company Director. We are looking for an energetic, experienced professional from a building conservation background to join our small management team. The role is varied, busy, and sometimes challenging, requiring a fully committed individual.
Duties and Responsibilities
1. Understand and work with the full tender process and project documentation, including CDM, specifications, statements of works, and drawings, before practical works begin on site.
2. Develop programmes of works, return requested information to the Contract Authority (CA), and attend pre-contract meetings before site works commence.
3. Help set up safe sites, organising welfare, security, facilities, scaffolding, and specific protection works.
4. Communicate and plan with appointed architects, employees, and subcontractors as works progress on site, maintaining active supervision of all trades to ensure programmes are met and quality is achieved.
5. Compile information for monthly progress meetings, or other specified intervals, and attend with the necessary details to help resolve queries and matters raised by the architect or client.
6. Ensure quality control by consistently managing work completion to the high standards on which the company has built its reputation.
7. Manage works programmes through to project completion, ensuring works meet target dates set out in the pre-contract programme.
8. Liaise and engage with subcontractors, managing costs, attendance, programme fit, and quality control from the main contractor perspective.
9. Order materials, attend site, and coordinate with operatives on logistics. Many projects are in remote and rural locations, so material delivery and availability are critical to avoid unnecessary downtime. Awareness of lengthy lead times is essential.
