TR19 Ductwork Cleaning Engineer
Job Summary
British Ventilation is seeking a professional, motivated and detail-focused TR19 Ductwork Cleaning Engineer to join our growing team. This role involves carrying out specialist ventilation hygiene services across a wide range of commercial and industrial buildings, ensuring systems are cleaned to the highest standards in accordance with TR19® guidance and company procedures.
You will work on a variety of ventilation systems, including supply and extract ductwork, kitchen extract systems, laundry extract systems and air handling units (AHUs). Every project requires a strong focus on quality, safety, compliance and accurate reporting. Key Responsibilities
* Carry out ventilation hygiene cleaning in accordance with TR19® guidance and company procedures.
* Clean supply and extract ductwork, kitchen extract systems, laundry extract systems, AHUs, fans, grilles, diffusers and associated ventilation components.
* Install temporary access equipment and access panels where required and authorised.
* Safely use specialist cleaning equipment including rotary brush systems, negative air units, HEPA filtration equipment, compressed air tools and vacuum systems.
* Carry out visual inspections before, during and after cleaning works.
* Capture clear photographic evidence and complete detailed digital reports using company software.
* Identify defects, contamination, access limitations or remedial requirements and report these to management.
* Maintain company vehicles, equipment and tools to a high standard.
* Ensure all works are completed safely in accordance with RAMS, COSHH, site rules and health and safety legislation.
* Communicate professionally with clients and site representatives at all times.
* Work both independently and as part of a team to deliver projects safely, efficiently and to a consistently high standard.
* Occasionally work away from home or undertake out-of-hours work where operational requirements demand.
Requirements
Essential
* Full UK driving licence.
* Strong work ethic with a positive and professional attitude.
* Good level of physical fitness and the ability to work in confined spaces, at height and in varying environments.
* Comfortable using hand tools, power tools and specialist cleaning equipment.
* Excellent attention to detail and pride in producing high-quality work.
* Good communication skills and the ability to complete accurate digital reports.
* Commitment to maintaining high standards of health, safety and professionalism.
Desirable
* Previous experience in ventilation hygiene or TR19 ductwork cleaning.
* Experience within HVAC, construction, facilities management or mechanical services.
* PASMA, IPAF or Working at Height qualifications.
* CSCS card.
* Asbestos Awareness certification.
* First Aid at Work qualification.
* Experience using inspection cameras and digital reporting systems.
