We are looking for a reliable, enthusiastic and motivated Pharmacy Dispenser / Counter Assistant to join our friendly team on a part-time basis.
The Role
This is a varied role combining dispensary duties with front-of-shop customer service. You will work closely with our pharmacist and pharmacy team to ensure patients receive a safe, efficient and friendly service.
Key Responsibilities
- Assisting in the dispensing of NHS and private prescriptions.
- Serving customers at the medicines counter.
- Providing advice on over-the-counter medicines and healthcare products within your level of training and competence.
- Processing prescriptions and maintaining accurate records.
- Ordering, receiving and managing stock.
- Answering telephone enquiries and assisting patients with their queries.
- Supporting the delivery of NHS and private pharmacy services.
- Maintaining high standards of cleanliness, organisation and professionalism.
- Following pharmacy procedures, confidentiality requirements and GPhC standards.
About You
We're looking for someone who:
- Has excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Is friendly, approachable and enjoys helping people.
- Works well as part of a team.
- Has good organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Is reliable, punctual and willing to learn.
- Can remain calm and accurate in a busy pharmacy environment.
Desirable (but not essential)
- Previous experience working in a community pharmacy.
- Medicines Counter Assistant (MCA) qualification.
- NVQ Level 2 in Pharmacy Services (or equivalent dispensing qualification).
Full training will be provided for the right candidate.
