About the Role
We are seeking an enthusiastic, knowledgeable and dedicated Motor Vehicle Lecturer/Tutor to join our growing team. This is an exciting opportunity to support young people, many with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, to achieve recognised vocational qualifications whilst developing practical skills for employment.
The successful candidate will deliver engaging, hands-on learning, assess student progress, and inspire learners to reach their potential in a supportive alternative provision environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality teaching in Motor Vehicle Maintenance.
- Teach and assess City & Guilds Motor Vehicle qualifications.
- Support learners in completing portfolios and achieving qualification standards.
- Deliver AQA Unit Awards, including practical skills
- Differentiate learning to meet the needs of students with SEN and challenging behaviour.
- Monitor, track and report on student progress, attendance and achievement.
- Complete learner reports and maintain accurate assessment records.
- Promote positive behaviour and maintain a safe workshop environment.
- Work collaboratively with the wider education and pastoral teams to support student outcomes.
- Participate in meetings, training and quality assurance processes.
Essential Requirements
- Qualification in Motor Vehicle Maintenance or a related subject.
- Experience working within the motor vehicle industry.
- Knowledge of City & Guilds qualifications and assessment requirements.
- Experience supporting learners with portfolio building and evidence collection.
- Ability to engage and motivate young people with varying needs and abilities.
- Excellent organisational and communication skills.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
Desirable
- Previous experience as a Motor Vehicle Tutor or Lecturer.
- Teaching qualification (PGCE, Cert Ed, Award in Education and Training or equivalent).
- Assessor qualification (TAQA/A1 or equivalent).
- Experience working within Alternative Provision, SEN or SEMH settings.
- Experience delivering AQA Unit Awards.
- Knowledge of behaviour management strategies.

Pay: £32,000.00-£40,000.00 per year
