We design and manufacture a modular van conversion system called CRUX along with a range of self-build products for the VW Crafter / Mercedes Sprinter / MAN TGE van platforms.
Designed for the adventure and active lifestyle leisure industries, we operate from our workshop in Hampshire, UK.
We are seeking a Vehicle Installation Technician on a freelance/self-employed basis to assist in fitting out our campervan builds. This is not a full time role - it probably looks like a couple of days a week when we have a van build on (every other month) but we do have vans in for smaller jobs between big builds that could offer more regulatory.
We're looking for someone who can hit the ground running and has a previously worked on campervan fitouts. As a small business, finding the right person is key for us. Experience in fitting/working with metal is more relevant then experience with woodwork for this role and being used to working on or around vehicles is a huge plus.
Responsibilities
- Fit out cutomers vans with our Crux modular van conversion system.
- Installation of 12v electrical systems (pre-made looms), including wiring, lighting and solar panels.
- Install diesel heaters, windows & roof vents.
- Test all systems to ensure proper functionality.
- Troubleshoot and resolve any issues or defects in the build process.
- Maintain a clean and organized workshop where we invite customers to see what we do.
- Work efficiently to hit our build deadlines.
- Skills
- Experience of basic metalwork skills .
- Experience of basic woodowork skills .
- Proficient in automotive electrical work, including wiring and installation of solar panels.
- Familiarity with insulation materials and installation methods.
- Detail-oriented with excellent problem-solving skills.
- Strong time management skills to meet project deadlines.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
