(Please note this role is an early morning manager with a starting time of between 7am to 8am)
Main Purpose:
To support the Café Manager with the day-to-day management and smooth running of the Friends Café. Ensuring excellent standards of customer service, hygiene, food safety and stock control are always upheld. The Deputy Manager will be required to manage the Cafe, in the manager’s absence and to support and supervise the team of volunteers.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- To support and stand in for the Cafe Manager in their absence, and taking on the responsibility of all aspects of the day-to-day operations of the Cafe in their absence.
- Ability to cook and prepare hot and cold food in a commercial environment, within the food standards guidance.
- Maintain high standards of hygiene, following food hygiene regulations and standards.
- Adaptable communication skills to be able to work effectively with volunteers, customers and trustees.
- To demonstrate and promote excellent customer service skills.
- Assisting the Café Manager, with the planning of menus, stock control and ordering.
- To ensure all monies are handled in accordance with company policy and procedures.
- To problem solve, and seek advice from relevant people within the Café and Trust where needed.
- Assisting with ordering stock and maintaining stock rotation.
- Ability to use excel spread sheets.

Pay: £12.70-£13.50 per hour
