The opportunity
Are you an experienced HR generalist looking for a role in local government during a period of considerable transformation? Adur & Worthing Councils are seeking a proactive and versatile HR Officer to join our small, friendly team.
This is an exciting time for Adur & Worthing as we prepare for Local Government Reorganisation (LGR) - one of the most significant organisational change programmes in the Councils’ history.
What you'll be doing
You will be at the heart of our HR service, providing essential support across the employee lifecycle. While your remit is broad, this role is uniquely positioned to drive improvements in our workforce data capabilities and champion our learning and development initiatives.
You will take ownership of our workforce datasets, ensuring data integrity and building and producing insightful reports and dashboards that empower our leadership to make evidence-based decisions.
You will also be a key contributor to our Learning and Development function, ensuring our teams have the skills they need to thrive.
Beyond your core priorities, you will contribute to the effective administration of the full employee lifecycle, including recruitment, payroll processing, and providing first-line guidance to managers and employees.
What we're looking for
We are looking for someone with solid experience in operational HR processes, with a keen eye for detail and the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights. You will build strong relationships easily and be comfortable working in a fast-paced, political environment, where collaboration is key to delivering results.
This role offers a unique opportunity to help shape the future of local government while supporting our people through an unprecedented period of transformation.
If this sounds like the role for you, we look forward to receiving your application!
