General Manager – Late Night Venue

Are you an experienced General Manager with a passion for late-night hospitality?
We're looking for a confident, hands-on leader to take the reins of one of Bristol's busiest late-night venues. This is a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious manager who thrives in a fast-paced environment, knows how to build high-performing teams, and delivers exceptional guest experiences while maintaining strong commercial performance.
This is not an entry-level management role. We're looking for someone with a proven track record of successfully managing a busy bar, nightclub or late-night venue.
About the Role
As General Manager, you'll be responsible for every aspect of the venue's operation, leading from the front to create a safe, exciting and profitable business.
You'll have full responsibility for:
- Leading, developing and motivating your management and bar teams
- Driving sales and profitability
- Managing labour, stock, GP and operating costs
- Delivering exceptional customer service
- Maintaining licensing objectives and ensuring legal compliance
- Recruitment, training and staff development
- Health & Safety and venue compliance
- Creating a positive team culture with high standards throughout
- Working closely with senior management to continually improve the business
What We're Looking ForEssential
- Minimum 2 years' experience as a General Manager or equivalent in a high-volume late-night venue
- Strong financial understanding, including labour control, stock management and gross profit
- Experience managing large teams in busy environments
- Excellent leadership and communication skills
- A hands-on management style with a willingness to work evenings, weekends and late nights
- A strong understanding of licensing legislation and venue compliance
- Experience delivering consistently high operational standards
- Must be available to start the role before Bristol's Freshers' period in September
Desirable
- Personal Licence Holder
- Experience managing security teams
- Experience delivering large-scale events
- Knowledge of EPOS systems and KPI reporting

Working Hours
This is a full-time, permanent position. You'll be expected to work evenings, weekends, bank holidays and key event dates as required by the business.

Pay: £38,000.00-£50,000.00 per year
