About the Role
As a Senior Carer, you will play a key leadership role within the home, supporting residents while guiding and supervising care staff to ensure the highest standards of care are consistently delivered.
You will help create a safe, welcoming, and engaging environment where residents remain at the heart of everything we do.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure residents are always at the heart of care delivery, promoting dignity, wellbeing, independence, and a consistently person-centred approach
- Supervise, support, and guide care staff to ensure high standards of compassionate and efficient care are maintained throughout the home
- Provide leadership, mentoring, induction, supervision, and ongoing support to new and existing team members, encouraging participation in training and development
- Support residents with personal care, medication administration, care planning, reviews, documentation, and daily wellbeing in line with policies and procedures
- Promote meaningful activities, social engagement, and positive relationships with residents, families, and visitors to maintain the home’s warm family atmosphere
- Ensure accurate care records, medication records, Health & Safety documentation, and communication across the team are maintained to a high standard
- Promote safe working practices, safeguarding, equality, dignity, and compliance with Care Quality Commission (CQC) standards and company policies
- Monitor the care environment, report concerns promptly, and contribute to maintaining a safe, welcoming, and high-quality home environment
What We’re Looking For
- Previous experience in a Senior Carer or Team Leader role within a care home setting
- A compassionate, calm, and professional approach
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Commitment to delivering outstanding person-centred care
- Good understanding of medication administration and care documentation
- Knowledge of safeguarding, Health & Safety, and CQC standards
- Ability to motivate and support a team in a positive manner
