The role
We’re looking for a talented Developer with experience in Microsoft technologies to join our Engineering team.
This is an exciting opportunity to design, build and deliver high-quality software solutions that help our clients and support Energy Saving Trust’s mission to address the climate emergency. Working alongside experienced developers, architects and project teams, you’ll contribute throughout the software development lifecycle; from solution design and coding through to testing, deployment and continuous improvement.
You’ll have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects using modern Microsoft technologies including C#, ASP.NET, Azure, SQL Server and Azure DevOps, while helping shape technical solutions, improving system resilience and mentoring junior colleagues as your experience grows.

The team
Our Engineering team develop secure, reliable and innovative digital solutions that support both our clients and the wider organisation. We work collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams, sharing knowledge, encouraging continuous learning and supporting each other to deliver high-quality outcomes.

What you will do
Design, develop and deliver high-quality software solutions using Microsoft technologies including C#, ASP.NET, SQL Server and Azure.
Contribute to solution architecture, technical design, code reviews, testing and quality assurance throughout the development lifecycle.
Collaborate with clients, project teams and technical colleagues to deliver robust, scalable and secure applications.
Help improve system performance, resilience and maintainability while contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.
Coach and support junior developers and contribute to a collaborative engineering culture.
What you will bring
Proven experience in a software development role, with the ability to demonstrate the skills and knowledge required for the position.
Strong communication skills including technical liaison to engage non-technical stakeholders.
Experience with the Microsoft platform development tools. Visual Studio, C#, LINQ, ASP.NET, Razor pages, .NET and .NET Framework , Web API, SQL Server, TSQL.
Exposure and knowledge of client-based web technologies. JavaScript, JQuery, HTML, CSS.
Knowledge of Microsoft Azure Dev ops and Azure hosting.
Experience with recognised industry design patterns including MVC, MVVM, REST, Dependency Injection.
