Curam Domi are seeking an experienced team leader specialising within child protection. Our team leaders will be expected to manage a small team of staff working with children, aged 11-16 with emotional behavioural difficulties.
We would like to meet qualified and enthusiastic candidates ready to take on a challenge in a well-organised small children's home.
Skills required
You'll need to:
- Manage and direct staff to meet requirements of our regulator Ofsted
- Driver's licence is essential
- get on with teenaged residents from all backgrounds and gain their trust
- use tact, patience and understanding during difficult situations within the home
- posses good computer and administration skills to report high quality case notes
- have resilience to cope with challenging situations and problem-solving techniques
- To be flexible working shifts including waking nights included within their 40hr week
What you'll do:
Your clients will include children in care, with possible emotional or social needs.
Your day-to-day tasks might include:
- checking staff progress throughout the week
- Effective communication skills
- providing one-to-one supervision and effective team leader is paramount
- support our deputy manager with budgeting, care planning, risk assessments and referral process
- providing leisure and creative activities in a safe and supportive setting
- developing detailed care plans for review and professional meetings
- helping residents to deal with problems and become independent
- working directly with multi-agencies such as schools, criminal justice workers, CAHMS, police officers
You'll also be expected to keep accurate records and write reports. These may be used in case reviews and future care plans.
Candidates who are not experienced in Youth Community/ Child Protection or Children's Residential Care need not apply.
