Assistant Records Manager
Woburn | Full-time | Fixed Term
Preserve the past. Shape the legacy. Lead the future.
This is a rare opportunity to join one of the country’s most historically significant private archives.
The Bedford Estates, home to the Russell family, Dukes of Bedford, encompasses a remarkable breadth of history, people and places. From Woburn Abbey, Woburn Safari Park and the Golf Club to a diverse portfolio of businesses and properties across Bedfordshire and central London. The Estate is underpinned by a rich collection of records documenting centuries of political, agricultural, artistic and social history.
As we prepare for the reopening of Woburn Abbey, we are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Assistant Records Manager to support the continued development of our archive and records management function.
Reporting directly to the Archives & Records Manager and working collaboratively with colleagues across the Estate, this role requires a sound understanding of current archival and records management standards, together with the confidence to develop, improve and adapt existing systems.
We are looking for an individual with a recognised qualification in archive administration or records management, demonstrable experience within an archival or records management environment, and confidence in using databases and/or cataloguing systems.
This is initially offered as a full-time, fixed-term role based in Woburn, with occasional travel required. Part-time hours may be considered.
Due to the Estate’s rural location, access to your own transport is required.
All applications will be treated in confidence.
