Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Relief Personal Assistant to provide flexible support within a care home environment. The successful candidate will assist with daily activities, ensuring residents receive compassionate and personalised care. Responsibilities
- Support residents with daily routines, including personal hygiene, mobility, and meal preparation
- Assist in implementing and updating individual care plans in accordance with organisational policies
- Provide companionship and emotional support to residents, fostering a friendly and respectful environment
- Ensure the safety and well-being of residents at all times by adhering to health and safety guidelines
- Communicate effectively with residents, colleagues, and family members to coordinate care needs
- Maintain accurate records of care activities using IT systems and documentation procedures
- Support the care team during shift changes and cover absences as required
- Assist with light domestic duties within the care home to maintain a clean and comfortable environment
Qualifications
- Previous experience in home care or working within a care home setting is desirable but not essential; training will be provided
- Valid driving licence is preferred to facilitate transportation needs
- Good communication skills in English, both written and verbal
- Basic IT skills for recording information and updating care plans
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities
- Compassionate attitude with a genuine interest in supporting vulnerable individuals
- Ability to work flexibly across different shifts as needed, including evenings or weekends if required
