Overview
We are seeking a skilled CNC Turner to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for setting up, programming, and operating CNC turning machines to produce precision components. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a strong mechanical background and experience in machining processes. Responsibilities
- Set up and operate CNC turning machines, ensuring accurate production according to technical drawings and specifications
- Interpret engineering drawings and CAD files, including SolidWorks models, to programme machine operations
- Perform routine maintenance and inspections on CNC equipment to ensure optimal performance
- Use hand tools, power tools, and tooling to assist with machine setup and component assembly when required
- Monitor machining processes, making adjustments as necessary to maintain tolerances
- Conduct quality checks on finished parts using precision measurement tools and basic math skills
- Maintain a clean and organised work environment in compliance with health and safety regulations
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to optimise machining processes and improve efficiency
Skills
- Proven experience with CNC turning operations in a manufacturing setting
- Proficiency in CAD software, particularly SolidWorks, for interpreting technical drawings and programming machines
- Mechanical knowledge of machine tools, tooling, and material properties
- Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, and other machining equipment
- Strong understanding of basic maths for measurements and calculations during machining tasks
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail
