We are a growing electrical wholesale business based in Birmingham, looking for a confident and reliable Trade Counter Sales Supervisor to help run our busy trade counter and support the day-to-day operation of the branch.
This is a hands-on role for someone who understands the electrical trade, enjoys dealing with customers, and can take ownership of the counter without needing constant supervision.
You will be dealing with electricians, contractors, trade customers and suppliers, so previous electrical wholesale or trade counter experience is strongly preferred.
The ideal candidate will be practical, organised, commercially aware and comfortable working in a fast-paced trade environment.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Serving customers on the trade counter
- Dealing with electricians, contractors and trade account customers
- Processing sales orders, quotes, payments and customer enquiries
- Helping customers with product selection and general advice
- Opening and closing the branch when required
- Keeping the trade counter clean, organised and professionally presented
- Checking stock, replenishing shelves and supporting stock control
- Building relationships with regular trade customers
- Helping grow local trade sales and repeat business
- Liaising with suppliers and internal staff
- Supporting with deliveries, collections and general branch duties
- Handling customer issues professionally and efficiently
What We’re Looking For
- Experience in electrical wholesale, trade counter sales or a similar trade environment
- Good knowledge of electrical products
- Confident dealing with trade customers face to face and over the phone
- Reliable, punctual and able to work independently
- Good communication and customer service skills
- Organised and able to manage multiple tasks during the day
- Sales-focused with a positive attitude
- Comfortable using basic computer/order systems
- Existing relationships with electricians, contractors or local trade customers would be an advantage
- A full UK driving licence is required, as the role may involve local deliveries, customer visits, supplier collections and general branch-related driving when needed.
