Damp & Mould Operative – Social Housing (Permanent)
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Damp & Mould Operative to join a leading Social Housing Contractor on a permanent basis, covering Havering, Barking & Dagenham, Newham, Hackney, Enfield, and Waltham Forest. The role offers a salary of up to £38,000 per annum.
Role Overview
You will be responsible for carrying out damp and mould treatment, repairs, and associated maintenance within occupied social housing properties, ensuring high-quality workmanship and excellent customer service.

Havering, Barking & Dagenham, Newham, Hackney, Enfield, Waltham Forest
Working Hours
- 08:00am – 17:00pm
- Up to 7 jobs per day
Key Responsibilities
- Carrying out damp and mould treatments, including washdowns and remedial works
- Preparing and treating affected areas to prevent recurrence
- Identifying underlying causes of damp and reporting findings
- Completing associated repairs (e.g. basic plastering, painting, sealing, ventilation improvements)
- Delivering excellent customer service to residents
- Ensuring all work is completed safely and to a high standard
- Optional participation in out-of-hours call-out rota

- Proven experience in damp & mould or property maintenance within social housing
- Good understanding of damp issues and remediation methods
- Basic multi-trade skills (plastering, painting, or carpentry desirable)
- Own basic hand and power tools
- Smartphone (BYOD allowance of £20 per month)
- Reliable, professional, and able to work independently
