Overview
As a Piping Engineer, you’ll deliver Mechanical & Piping Construction Work Packs that help enable safe, schedule-driven installation work across the programme. Your impact matters: you’ll own deliverables from early development through A-Accepted status, targeting over 90% first-time acceptance, while ensuring documentation remains compliant with the latest works information and MEH requirements.
This is a key engineering role in a regulated environment where precision, clear scope definition, and proactive collaboration are essential.
Required Skills
- Degree qualification or equivalent vocational training OR experience installing Mechanical and Piping systems
- Ability to achieve Security Clearance (BPSS or higher)
- CCNSG Safety Passport
- Proven track record working in a highly regulated sector, preferably nuclear
- Experience working on major construction projects
- Experience delivering and operating at Engineer or Senior Engineer level
- Experience working with Navisworks models
- Proficient Excel skills
- Positive, can-do mindset and adaptive problem-solving approach
- Strong organisation skills and proven record of success
- Configuration management skills
Nice to Have Skills
- Experience including or supporting Method Statements as part of deliverables
- Demonstrated strengths in continuous improvement programmes to strengthen processes and procedures
Preferred Education and Experience
- Preferred: Degree qualification (or equivalent vocational training), or solid experience in installing Mechanical and Piping systems
- Experience level: Demonstrated ability to deliver at Engineer / Senior Engineer level on major projects, ideally within nuclear or similarly regulated environments
Other Requirements
- Onsite requirement: 3 days a week minimum onsite at HPC
- Travel: Limited travel to other EDF locations (Aztec West / Bridgwater SDC)
- Compliance: Must ensure adherence to nuclear safety and site licence requirements
- Reporting line: Directly report to the area pre-construction lead (or nominated deputy)
