Mapperley Dental Studio – Nottingham
Job type: Full-time

About the role
We’re looking for an experienced Dental Nurse / Receptionist to join our growing team at Mapperley Dental Studio.
For this role, exceptional communication and people skills are essential.
We’re looking for someone who is confident, warm and engaging whether speaking to a patient face-to-face, over the telephone, by email or through social media. You should be comfortable building rapport, handling new patient enquiries confidently and helping people feel looked after from their very first interaction with us.
This is a genuinely varied role combining front-of-house responsibilities with dental nursing. While clinical nursing experience is important, we are particularly looking for someone with strong dental reception experience who understands the importance of communication throughout the patient journey.
About Mapperley Dental Studio
We are a modern, fully private dental practice in Mapperley, Nottingham with a strong focus on high-quality dentistry and an exceptional patient experience.
As a growing independent private practice, within our first year we have built a five-star Google-rated practice – something we are incredibly proud of as a team.
We’re now looking for the right person to grow with us and become an important part of the next stage of the practice.
What you'll be doing:
- Welcoming patients and providing a warm, professional front-of-house experience
- Handling telephone, email and social media enquiries confidently
- Building rapport with new patients and helping guide them towards the appropriate next step
- Managing appointments, follow-ups and the wider patient journey
- Providing chairside dental nursing support and helping the clinical day run smoothly
What we're looking for:
- Qualified and GDC-registered Dental Nurse
- Previous dental reception experience
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a confident telephone manner
- Warm, approachable and naturally good with people
- Organised, reliable and a genuine team player
We’re particularly interested in someone who doesn't just answer an enquiry, but can listen to what a patient is looking for, communicate confidently and help them take the next step with us.
Working hours
This is a full-time position of 37.5 hours per week and will include one late evening per week.
As the practice continues to grow, occasional Saturday working will also be required. We anticipate this being approximately one Saturday morning per month, depending on patient demand, so flexibility with weekend working is essential.
Saturday requirements will be planned in advance as part of the practice rota.
Why join us?
- Modern, fully private independent practice
- Supportive and friendly team
- Varied role across reception and clinical nursing
- Continued learning, development and opportunities to progress as the practice grows
- £14.00 per hour during probation, increasing to £14.50 per hour following successful completion
We want the person joining us to become an important part of Mapperley Dental Studio rather than simply fill a position. If you genuinely enjoy working with people, communicate exceptionally well and take pride in creating a great patient experience, we'd really like to hear from you.

Please submit your CV along with a short introduction telling us a little about yourself and why you feel you would be a great fit for Mapperley Dental Studio.
