Overview
We are seeking a dedicated SEN Tutor to provide specialised educational support to children with special educational needs. The successful candidate will work closely with students, teachers, and parents to facilitate personalised learning programmes that promote academic progress and confidence. This role offers an enriching opportunity to make a positive impact on young learners' lives through tailored teaching approaches.
Duties
- Deliver customised tutoring sessions aligned with individualised education plans (IEPs) for children with special educational needs
- Assess students’ strengths and areas for development, adjusting teaching strategies accordingly
- Support students in developing essential skills across literacy, numeracy, and social interaction
- Collaborate with teachers and parents to monitor progress and update learning objectives
- Create engaging and inclusive learning environments that foster confidence and independence
- Maintain accurate records of sessions, progress reports, and student achievements
- Promote positive behaviour management techniques to encourage student engagement and motivation
Experience
- Proven experience in tutoring or teaching, preferably within special education settings
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with children who have diverse learning needs
- Strong communication skills to liaise confidently with students, parents, and colleagues
- Knowledge of special educational needs frameworks and inclusive teaching practices is desirable
- Compassionate approach with patience, adaptability, and a genuine passion for supporting children's development
Pay: £25.00 per hour
