The Role
We are looking for a Clinical Embryologist to join our laboratory team. Working under the direction of the Lab Manager and alongside Senior Clinical Embryologists, you will deliver high-quality embryology services across our IVF and ART programmes. Your day-to-day work will include:
- IVF, ICSI, and ART laboratory procedures, including fertilisation, embryo culture, grading, and transfer preparation.
- Cryopreservation, vitrification, and thaw procedures for oocytes, sperm, and embryos.
- Semen analysis and sperm preparation.
- Accurate record-keeping in our HFEA-compliant clinical management system.
- Communicating embryo development updates to patients with clarity and empathy.
- Contributing to audits, SOP reviews, and quality improvement initiatives.
What You Will Need
- BSc (or higher) in Biomedical Science, Biology, or a related field.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a licensed IVF laboratory.
- HCPC registration or ACE membership, or actively working towards.
- Competency in IVF, ICSI, and embryo cryopreservation, including vitrification and frozen embryo transfer.
- Sound knowledge of the HFEA Code of Practice and regulatory requirements.
- Excellent attention to detail, strong patient communication skills, and the ability to work calmly under pressure.
An MSc or PgDip in Clinical Embryology or Reproductive Science and experience with PGT biopsy procedures would be an advantage.
Additional Requirements
The successful candidate will be required to complete an enhanced DBS check prior to commencement and to maintain active professional registration throughout employment. All work is conducted in strict accordance with the clinic’s HFEA licence conditions.
Pay: £39,000.00-£45,000.00 per year
