Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and professional Dental Hygienist to join our dental practice. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality preventative dental care, assisting with patient education, and supporting the overall function of the dental team. This role offers an excellent opportunity to utilise your skills in a friendly and supportive environment, contributing to improved oral health outcomes for our patients. The position is working along side our two Specialist Periodontists internally we also support direct access patients. We have EMS airflow and nursing support is provided. This is a growth role as with my current 2 Hygienists we are booking more than 3 months ahead. Role is for a Friday and due to availabilty of the surgeries must be available on a full day Friday.
Responsibilities
- Perform professional dental cleaning procedures, including scaling and polishing teeth to remove plaque and tartar.
- Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) using appropriate techniques and equipment.
- Conduct oral health assessments and provide personalised patient education on oral hygiene practices.
- Maintain accurate patient records in compliance with practice protocols and data protection regulations.
- Monitor patient progress and follow up on treatment plans as directed by the dentist.
Skills
- Proven experience as a Dental Hygienist or similar role within a dental practice. Hygienists with experience working with a Periodontal centre is preferred however not essential.
- Strong understanding of human anatomy, particularly oral anatomy, to accurately assess and treat patients.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to educate patients effectively about oral health.
- Experience with providing LA to support treatment and confident with administering essential.
- Organised with keen attention to detail to ensure precise record keeping and adherence to safety standards.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team in a fast-paced environment.
