Health & Safety/Fire Risk Assessor - The Good Maintenance Company - West London
JOB OVERVIEW
We're looking for a detail-oriented, safety-minded individual to work as a Health & Safety/Fire Risk Assessor for The Good Maintenance Company. This is an independent, site-based role working across residential blocks in London.
You'll conduct H&S and fire risk assessments autonomously, work with building managers and residents, and prepare detailed compliance reports. We're open to training the right person—you don't need all certifications on day one, but you must be committed to obtaining them.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Conduct H&S and fire risk assessments at residential blocks on a scheduled basis
Identify deficiencies and make recommendations to achieve legislative compliance
Prepare detailed reports with findings and fire safety action plans
Meet with building managers, residents, contractors, and regulators to discuss findings and next steps
Stay current with H&S and fire safety legislation
Work within accreditation scheme requirements
Travel to multiple client sites across London (West London focus)
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
Essential:
Self-directed and confident working independently at client sites
Strong ability to explain technical findings clearly to different audiences
Right to work in the UK
Reliable and able to travel across London regularly
Committed to obtaining BAFE SP205 (Fire Risk Assessor) and NEBOSH certifications within 12-18 months
Preferred:
Background in H&S, fire safety, facilities management, surveying, or building control
Experience in residential property, block management, or facilities
Any H&S training (e.g., IOSH, City & Guilds Fire Safety Awareness)
Experience working independently on multiple client sites
Ability to explain technical information to non-specialists

WORKING ARRANGEMENTS
Monday to Friday
Site-based (travel to London properties) + office/home working for reporting
