Overview
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Chef de Partie / Junior Sous Chef to join our dynamic culinary team. This role offers an exciting opportunity for individuals with a passion for food, excellent kitchen skills, and leadership qualities to contribute to a high-standard hospitality environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing, cooking, and supervising food production, ensuring the highest standards of quality and safety are maintained. Previous experience in a restaurant or hospitality setting is essential, along with strong organisational and team management skills.
Duties
- Prepare and cook a variety of dishes in accordance with menu specifications and quality standards
- Supervise junior kitchen staff and ensure smooth kitchen operations during service
- Assist in food presentation and ensure consistency across all dishes served
- Maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene, and cleanliness in line with health regulations
- Manage stock levels, order supplies, and minimise waste to optimise kitchen efficiency
- Collaborate with the head chef and management team to develop new menu ideas and improve existing offerings
- Train new team members on food preparation techniques and safety procedures
- Oversee the organisation of workstations to ensure efficient workflow during busy periods
- Serve food to guests when required, maintaining excellent customer service standards
Qualifications
- Proven experience in a similar role within a restaurant or hospitality environment
- Strong knowledge of food production, cooking techniques, and presentation skills
- Supervising experience or leadership qualities with the ability to manage a team effectively
- Familiarity with food safety regulations and best practices in hygiene standards
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask under pressure
- Good communication skills and a positive attitude towards teamwork
- Previous experience in food preparation, culinary arts, and serving is highly desirable
- A recognised culinary qualification or relevant professional training is advantageous
