Job role: Employment and Skills Coach
Hours: 37 hours per week (09:00am to 17:00pm Mon-Thurs, 09:00am to 16:30pm Fri)
We are looking for an Employment and Skills Coach to support digitally excluded residents to progress into further learning and employment opportunities, working as part of the WMCA Digital Divide project team to create sustainable pathways for learner progression.

Key tasks and responsibilities:
- Provide one-to-one employment and skills coaching to program participants
- Develop and implement progression plans for learners
- Build and maintain relationships with learning providers and employers
- Support achievement of project progression targets
- Contribute to project monitoring and evaluation
Main duties and responsibilities:
- Conduct initial assessments and skills audits
- Support learners to identify appropriate learning and employment pathways (the role will include targeted progression outcomes for entry into employment, and enrolment onto a Level 1 or above funded ICT qualification)
- Provide job search, CV writing, and interview preparation support
- Track and record learner progression
- Develop relationships with employers and learning providers
- Maintain accurate records of all coaching activities
- Contribute to case studies and impact reporting
- Coordinate with Digital Skills Tutor to ensure integrated support
- Attend relevant network meetings and events
- Support learners to access additional support services as needed
What we're looking for:
- A Level 3 qualification (or higher) in a relevant subject, such as Information, Advice and Guidance.
- At least 2 years' experience in employment coaching, careers guidance or a similar support role.
- Experience supporting adults facing multiple barriers to learning and employment.
- Knowledge of adult learning pathways and employment opportunities.
- Strong coaching, motivational and relationship-building skills.
- Excellent communication, networking and partnership-working abilities.
- Good administrative and IT skills, with the ability to maintain accurate records.
- A solution-focused approach with a commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion.
- An enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
- Ability and willingness to travel across the Sandwell delivery area.
- Experience working with digitally excluded adults or delivering digital inclusion projects (desirable).
- Knowledge of the West Midlands employment market and local support services (desirable).
