Job Title: Café and Bubble Tea Manager

Position Type: Full-Time, Permanent (approx. 44 hours per week, 5-day rota)
Salary Range: £29,000 per year (dependent on experience)
Reports To: Café Owner
Position Purpose
The Café Manager takes full operational of the café. This role requires a hands-on leader who splits time between strategic management tasks and working directly on the floor alongside the team. The primary goals are to drive sales, manage labour and stock costs, maintain strict food safety standards, and deliver an exceptional customer experience.
Core Responsibilities
1. Daily Operations & Quality Control
- Execute opening and closing procedures, including alarm management and daily till setups.
- Lead by example on the floor during peak rushes, serving as a senior barista or host.
- Monitor quality drinks and food presentation.
- Maintain an immaculate front-of-house and back-of-house cleaning schedule.
- Enforce compliance with UK food safety regulations, COSHH, and maintain accurate HACCP logs.
2. Stock Management
- Manage weekly inventory levels, place supplier orders, and systematically track waste.
- Construct weekly staff rotas that align labour budgets with forecasted daily sales.
3. Team Leadership & Development
- Recruit, onboard, and train new staff.
- Conduct regular performance reviews and provide continuous on-the-job coaching.
- Foster a positive, energetic, and collaborative team culture.
- Manage staff performance issues directly, fairly, and in accordance with UK employment laws.
4. Customer Service & Community Engagement
- Address and resolve customer feedback and complaints efficiently and professionally.
- Maintain the café's local social media presence and execute seasonal marketing campaigns.
- Cultivate a loyal customer base through warm hospitality and excellent service.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum 2+ years of management experience in a fast-paced specialty café, coffee shop, or Bubble tea shop.
- Skills: Exceptional barista and Bubble tea skills, strong understanding of espresso equipment, and basic kitchen management knowledge.
- Certifications: Level 2 or Level 3 Food Safety & Hygiene Certification (highly preferred).
- Availability: Flexible to work weekends, school holiday and bank holidays as required by the business rota.
- Moving and Handling: Capable to move heavy stocks (25kg)
