Salary: £9,941.60 actual per annum (15 hours),
£24,854 per annum (Full time equivalent)

The role
We’re looking for a creative and driven Ecommerce Retail Assistant to join our growing team. This role is perfect for someone passionate about online retail, social media, and engaging customers through innovative channels—particularly live selling.
You’ll play a key role in supporting our ecommerce operations while helping us grow our presence across social platforms such as Instagram, TikTok, and Facebook. If you love being on camera, spotting trends, and connecting with customers in real-time, this could be the ideal opportunity.
Key Responsibilities

Support day-to-day ecommerce operations (product uploads, stock updates, order processing)
- Create and schedule engaging content across social media platforms
- Assist in planning and delivering live selling sessions (e.g. TikTok Live, Instagram Live)
- Present products confidently during live sessions (or develop toward presenting)
- Engage with customers through comments, messages, and live chats
- Monitor social media performance and suggest ideas to improve reach and engagement
- Help maintain a consistent brand voice and visual identity online
- Stay up to date with ecommerce and social media trends
About You

A strong interest in fashion/retail/ecommerce (adapt as needed)
- Confident using social media platforms (especially Instagram, TikTok, Facebook)
- Comfortable being on camera or willing to develop this skill
- Creative, enthusiastic, and full of ideas
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Highly organised and able to manage time effectively across a multi-day part-time schedule
- Previous retail or ecommerce experience is desirable but not essential
- Experience or interest in live selling or livestreaming is a big plus
What we offer
33 days per annum, which includes bank holidays (pro rata for part time), increasing after five and 10 years’ service.

Katharine House Hospice provides all its services free of charge to patients and their families. In order to do this funds need to be raised, Katharine House Retail is key to this, maximising the funds it can raise through the sale of donated items and other merchandising.
Part of the team
We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Ecommerce Retail Assistant with hands-on experience in managing social media platforms. You will support the day-to-day running of our online store while driving brand engagement and growth through effective social media activity.
This is a dynamic role combining ecommerce operations, customer service, and digital marketing.
Core Responsibilities
Key Area - Responsibilities & Outputs
Ecommerce Operations

Manage and update product listings across ecommerce platforms (e.g., Shopify, WooCommerce, Amazon, eBay)
- Ensure accurate product descriptions, pricing, and inventory levels
- Process online orders, returns, and exchanges efficiently
- Monitor stock levels and coordinate with internal teams to maintain availability
- Assist in launching new products and seasonal campaigns
Social Media Management

Plan, create, and schedule engaging content across platforms (e.g., Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, Pinterest)
- Monitor social media channels and respond to customer enquiries and comments
- Track performance metrics (engagement, reach, conversions) and suggest improvements
- Support influencer collaborations and marketing campaigns
- Maintain brand voice and consistency across all digital channels
- Handle customer queries via email, chat, and social media
Customer Service

Resolve issues promptly to ensure a positive customer experience

Skills Requirements

Previous experience in ecommerce, retail, or online sales support
- Proven experience managing social media platforms for a business
- Strong written communication skills with an eye for engaging content
- Good understanding of ecommerce platforms and tools
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
- Customer-focused mindset

Experience with tools such as Shopify, Canva, Meta Business Suite, Hootsuite or similar
- Basic knowledge of SEO and digital marketing
- Familiarity with analytics tools (Google Analytics, social insights)
