About the Role
As the Head Chef at HERA, you will lead our kitchen team and play a key role in delivering exceptional Greek cuisine. We are looking for a passionate and experienced chef with strong leadership skills, creativity, and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of food quality, consistency, and presentation. Previous experience in Greek or Mediterranean cuisine is highly desirable.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and innovate seasonal menus that celebrate authentic Greek flavours while introducing creative new dishes.
- Lead and manage all kitchen operations, ensuring efficient service and smooth day-to-day running of the kitchen.
- Recruit, train, mentor, and motivate the kitchen team, fostering a positive and high-performing working environment.
- Maintain exceptional standards of food preparation, presentation, and consistency.
- Manage food costs, kitchen budgets, stock control, ordering, and supplier relationships.
- Ensure compliance with all food safety, hygiene, health and safety, and HACCP regulations.
- Monitor kitchen performance and implement best practices to improve efficiency and quality.
- Work closely with the Front of House management team to deliver an outstanding guest experience.
- Contribute ideas for seasonal specials, events, and menu improvements.
Skills & Experience
- Previous experience as a Head Chef or Senior Sous Chef in a high-volume restaurant.
- Experience with Greek or Mediterranean cuisine is preferred.
- Strong leadership and people management skills.
- Excellent organisational and time-management abilities.
- A passion for high-quality food and attention to detail.
- Good understanding of food cost control and kitchen financial management.
- A good command of the English language is required. Knowledge of Greek is an advantage but not essential.
