Overview
Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Pharmacy Counter & Dispensing Assistant, where you will be directly involved in patient well-being and medication safety. In this vital role, you will be responsible for serving patients, providing over-the-counter advice and medicines, accurately dispensing prescriptions, providing excellent patient care, and supporting the pharmacy team in delivering seamless pharmaceutical services. Your proactive approach and attention to detail will ensure that every patient receives the correct medication promptly and safely, fostering trust and confidence in our healthcare services.
Responsibilities
- Accurately dispense prescribed medications following doctor’s instructions and pharmacy protocols
- Verify prescriptions for correctness, dosage, and potential interactions to ensure patient safety
- Assist patients with medication inquiries, providing clear instructions on usage and storage
- Prepare and label medication packages meticulously to prevent errors
- Maintain precise records of dispensed medications and inventory levels
- Support the pharmacy team in managing stock levels, ordering supplies, and receiving deliveries
- Follow all regulatory guidelines related to medication handling, storage, and documentation
- Serve on the pharmacy counter and provide over-the-counter medicines and advice
Requirements
- Must be able to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends
- Ideally proven experience as a pharmacy technician or dispenser within a healthcare setting but training can be provided
- Strong commitment to patient care with excellent communication skills
- Ability to work accurately under pressure while maintaining attention to detail
- Demonstrated understanding of pharmacy safety protocols and confidentiality standards - training provided
